You will know if it is not good for his system if he ends up with loose bowels and there is nothing else out of the ordinary he is eating. Your dog will be the one to tell you if it is bad for him. It certainly will not hurt him physically besides that.

FOOD ALLERGIES IN DOGS CAN ALSO SHOW UP AS SKIN PROBLEMS. DRY, FLAKY, ITCHY, SKIN WOULD BE A THING TO KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR ALSO.

I have a pregnant female Chihuahua that recently discovered she loves asparagus too. I let her eat her fill (after she landed in the center of my plate to get it) and no problems resulted. I have very healthy Chihuahuas and I feed them quality dog food and supplement with fresh veggies and chicken on occasion. I don't see any harm from allowing them to indulge occasionally.

I also allow mine fresh fruits too. They ALL love blueberry anything!! My pregnant one loves, peaches and peach yogurt!!
